One thing that some people like to do (an see) is an image thumbnail next to an excerpt of a post. This little function has many uses but essentially what it does is ‘extract’ the first image in a post and allows you to display it as a thumbnail conversley the you maniplate the image who you want.

One problem many people have is excluding a specific category from their home page. Here is a function that does just that.

To add a session at the top of your page you need to add the code above. This can be done using the WordPress hook attached to a function.
